As an educator and movement builder, Amnat has worked with state/government officials, students, and business professionals and executives nationally, independently through his consultancy group, andJustice4All; and in partnership with the Organization of Chinese Americans as a Leadership Trainer. He has presented nationally at the Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC) National Equity Summit, NE Annual Giving Assoc. Conference, ACPA Nat'l Convention, NASPA Nat'l Convention & Multicultural Institute, the OCA Nat'l Convention, National Conference On Race and Ethnicity, and as the principle designer and facilitator for Teach For America’s Inaugural Asian American Native Hawaiian& Pacific Islander Education Policy Leadership Summit. Amnat volunteers as a member of the Business Advisory Council for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Council.
Amnat joined Teach For America in August 2015 to form the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusiveness powerhouse team known as the Office of the Chief Diversity Officer. He then ventured on as a founding member of the Org-Wide Learning and Strategy team as a member of the Adult Learning & Knowledge Management sub-team and co-founder of the Center for Excellence in Adult Learning at Teach For America. Amnat currently is a founding member and Senior Managing Director for The Imaginarium, a research and development area within the People Development and Impact Team of Human Assets. Amnat is TFA’s Learning Management System (LMS) administrator and is the developer and chief driver for much of Teach For America’s virtual blended learning work for staff development and for TFA’s new Virtual Summer Teacher Training program in which there are over 3400 new teachers being trained in the summer of 2020.
Amnat is the proud father of two young children and currently resides in the Springfield, MA area. As a first-generation refugee from Laos, Amnat grew up just north of “The City” in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is a seasoned diversity & inclusion/leadership trainer/educator, social justice/mission integration consultant, and community activist, with over 25+ years of experience in the field. Amnat has his BA in Political Science and MS in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University (Go Orange!). Amnat’s successes in senior collaborative leadership development and inclusion work (including Title IX compliance), teaching, advocacy and mentoring, strategic planning, and executive/senior level management work in higher education administration has made him a much sought after consultant and trainer. Amnat has worked with multiple generations of college students from all around the world, as the Dean of Students at Holyoke Community College, as Assistant Dean of Students at Hampshire College, and as the Director of Multicultural Affairs and Coordinator of the Siena Leadership Institute at Siena College. In addition to his responsibilities in college administration, Amnat brings a complementary background in teaching at three institutions: Women’s & Multicultural Studies @ Siena College; Counseling/College Student Services Administration @The College of St. Rose; Psychology @ Syracuse University. Amnat is the former Co-Chair of the Asian Pacific American Network, the largest association for APAs working in Higher Education, through ACPA.
